Seaside Images

'Florida' is a body of work that aims to capture and communicate to the viewer feelings of melancholic nostalgia within the seaside town of Hemsby in Norfolk. Florida refers to the name of the chalet park in which the work is based around, surrounding holiday homes also take their names from American locations such as Belle Air, Bermuda and California. The images are reminiscent of the American colour photographers of the 1970's, who captured dilapidated traces of human existence and prompted feelings of isolation and alienation through glorious colour images.
